The Museum of Everything Exhibition #2 at Tate Modern

10 May

Are you a marginal or self-taught artist? Do people call your work strange, amateurish, obsessive, even ugly? Have you received a calling to depict new worlds? Or inherited a book of hand-drawn doodlings? Or are you simply an artist with a disability, whose creativity has yet to be discovered?

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, we exhort you to submit a work on paper or modest canvas to Exhibition #2 to be held on May 14th, 15th and 16th 2010 at London’s Tate Modern.

Exhibition #2 is open to all non-professional, non-traditional and non-exhibited artists – living or dead – to their relatives and representatives and even to owners of anonymous artworks.

To enter, mosey on down to Tate Modern and have your work eyeballed by their bawdy Board of Trustees. Successful works will be displayed inside the Turbine Hall for the duration of the exhibition and may be published in a book of the show and invited into the museum’s permanent collection.

Please, we’re on our knees, don’t miss this golden opportunity. For the ins and outs of it all, email everytate@gmail.com or click just here.

Find the board of trustees at Tate Modern at these times;

Friday 14th May 2010 – 10:00am until midnight
Saturday 15th May – 10:00am until midnight
Sunday 16th May – 10:00am until 6:00pm

Top ten fashion films of the season

6 Apr

The Business of Fashion has listed their top 10 fashion films of the season .

At no 1 the have chosen FRED BUTLER “SUNSHOWERS” by Elisha Smith-Leverock with the following motivation; There is a hypnotic, sharply focused beauty about Fred Butler and Elisha Smith-Leverock’s film “Sunshowers” that makes it dance through your head long after you’ve seen it. Created for A Shaded View on Fashion Film in response to a one-word brief (“Light”) from Diane Pernet, the film uses ritualistic movements, flashes of golden sunlight, and rhythmic soundtrack to perfectly heighten the experience of stunning accessories and headpieces by Fred Butler and Rosy Nicholas for Fred Butler. We think the film feels primal and utterly elegant, timeless and contemporary — all in the same breath.

“Sunshowers” premieres at ASVOFF on May 25 in Milan.
