Inspired by James Richard’s selection of Study for a Portrait by Francis Bacon from the V-A-C collection, Barbara Dawson, the Director of The Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin, discusses the re-creation of the renowned artist’s studio.

The unprecedented relocation of the studio and the subsequent cataloguing of its contents into an accessible and comprehensive database have had a great impact on the shape and focus of exhibitions of Francis Bacon’s work.
