For its 8th year, HOUSE 2016 will be commissioning new works in response to the curatorial theme ofHome, HOUSE Curator and Director of Photoworks, Celia Davies explains; ‘This year, HOUSE is interested in ‘Home’ as a sense of place and what it means for us; about the constructed private spaces we create in relation to society and our relationship to the technological, physical and political landscapes that surround us. ‘For some ‘Home’ is just a physical dwelling, for others it signifies where we root our daily lives, or a direct reflection of our identity. ‘Home’ can also be a concept, a locator in our mind-set that can make us feel secure, or at times uneasy.
Turner Prize winner Gillian Wearing is the HOUSE 2016 Invited Artist!
