The Royal Institute of British Architects is now welcoming:
- applications for funding from the 2017 RIBA Research Fund
- submissions for the 2017 RIBA President’s Awards for Research
The 2017 RIBA Research Fund is now welcoming applications for grants of up to £10,000 each from practitioners and academics interested in conducting independent research. All ideas will be considered as long as the research end-product contributes to the progress of architecture and the professional development of architects.

The 2017 RIBA President’s Awards for Research are now welcoming submissions of research work completed between 1 July 2016 and 31 May 2017 in the following categories:
- History and Theory
- Design and Technical
- Cities and Community
- This year’s annual theme: ‘Housing’.
Awards will be made from three shortlisted entries in each category. All shortlisted papers will be published by the RIBA with the winners of each category being published in a special edition of The Journal of Architecture.
