KinoVan Events – free events

The KinoVan is a mobile cinema showing films from across London, inspired by travelling cinema vans of the 1920s.

“Like a Tardis on wheels, we are giving people the chance to time travel: to stand in front of the screen and see the past hundred years reel before their eyes.”
Adrian Wootton, Film London CEOfeature_IMG_0448.jpg

We also reveal the hidden stories behind the films, including memories from the original filmmakers or their families.

KinoVan Events

The KinoVan is back on the road for 2018, as part of the Courage and Communities project.

Courage and Communities celebrates the suffrage movement across the capital. As part of the Mayor’s #behindeverygreatcity campaign and generously funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project involves a host of exciting London cultural organisations and a diverse programme of events.

The project commemorates The Representation of the People Act 1918, which gave some women the vote for the first time. London was at the forefront of the historic suffragette movement, helping to change equality, rights and citizenship for women around the world.
